Antidote is a spelling and grammar checker for English and French that integrates with MS Word and a variety of other applications. It analyses the text and highlights any errors in one simple operation. This allows the user not only to correct any errors, but also to improve the style. Hovering over a highlighted word displays a tooltip with corrections and their explanations or a suggested replacement. As well as correcting spelling and grammar, the tool can also clean up typography, eliminate repetitions and replace any non-inclusive terms using smart filters.

There is also a free plugin for Trados Studio 2021 and 2022 that adds the Antidote toolbar under the review ribbon, allowing you to work interactively with this application as you translate (https://appstore.rws.com/plugin/3/). The plugin is free, but you must have a copy of Antidote installed.

The Classic version of antidote costs 119 € and can be installed locally on one Windows or Mac computer. It is also available as a monthly subscription incl. Antidote Web and Antidote Mobile.
